  1. The Dialing Preferences file is used by both the Address Book Plus application and desk accessory to store general dialing information such as your local area code, home country, and long distance carrier prefix.

Address Book Plus automatically creates the Dialing Preferences file when you first start the application or the desk accessory.  The original file contains a minimum number of default preferences.  You should select Dialing Preferences from the Dial menu and set your preferences before using the dialing feature for the first time.  For information on using the dialog box, see “Dialing Preferences” under “Dial menu.”

  5. If for some reason Address Book Plus can’t create the file (you are running the application from a floppy disk and your system file is locked, for example), the Dial menu will be disabled.
